    Location: Jimmie Simpson Park, 870 Queen St. E.
  2. Councillor Paula Fletcher (Ward 30 Toronto-Danforth) and City of Toronto staff in partnership with TD Waterhouse Private Trust, Enbridge and Toronto Fire Services will join Toronto children, ages five to 12 for an afternoon of FREE refreshments, music, games and sports
  3. Activities include a carousel pony ride, airbrush tattoo artists, clown/balloon sculptors, inflatable bouncers, hot dogs and cotton candy.
  4. Admission and activities are FREE.

  1. Currently, 80 splash pads are open across the city until September 18. They operate daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. by push button release. Splash pads are unsupervised water play areas, so caregivers are reminded to supervise their children at all times in these areas.
  2. Weather permitting, 12 outdoor pools across the city are open on a part-time basis weekends and after school beginning today, Saturday, June 18.
  3. Another 58 outdoor pools will open Saturday, June 25, also on a part-time schedule.
  4. All outdoor pools will begin standard hours of operation on Thursday, June 30 and will remain open on varying schedules until Sunday, September 4.
  5. On June 30, over 100 supervised wading pools will open for the summer. Each will operate on individual schedules until September 4, weather permitting. Wading pools are shallow water areas for children located in parks. Caregivers are reminded to supervise their children at all times in these areas.
  6. The following outdoor swimming pools are opened today, June 18, for after-school and weekend hours.

City’s outdoor pools, splash pads and wading pools are cool places to be this summer

The City of Toronto invites residents of all ages to enjoy the City’s splash pads, wading pools and outdoor swimming pools this season. Splash pads, wading pools and leisure swimming at outdoor pools are free for all ages.

Weather permitting, 12 outdoor pools across the city will open on a part-time basis weekends and after school beginning Saturday, June 18. Another 58 outdoor pools will open Saturday, June 25, also on a part-time schedule. All outdoor pools will begin standard hours of operation on Thursday, June 30 and will remain open on varying schedules until Sunday, September 4.

The following outdoor swimming pools will open on June 18 for after-school and weekend hours.

“In 2010, 1.6 million people took advantage of our outdoor pools,” said Brenda Patterson, General Manager, Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation. “I encourage all Torontonians to enjoy the many options they have to cool off this summer. Our outdoor pools, wading pools and splash pads are the coolest places.”
