Small business forum in Toronto next week to feature numerous business experts

This year’s Small Business Forum will feature more than 40 business experts, some of them speaking about their experiences and successes while others offer one-on-one consultations.

The experts and more will be part of the 14th annual Small Business Forum on Thursday, October 23. Produced by the City of Toronto’s Enterprise Toronto, this free event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s South Building.

The forum’s program will include keynote speeches by acclaimed Canadian entrepreneurs Matthew Corrin, founder and CEO of Freshii, and Kelsey Ramsden, founder and CEO of Belvedere Place Development and SparkPlay.

Karen Clarke-Whistler, TD’s Chief Environment Officer, will lead a panel on turning sustainability into profitability, while Nicolas Gaudreau, Canadian telecommunications executive, entrepreneur and current Chief Marketing Officer for the Yellow Pages Group, will present a seminar on digital marketing for small and medium-sized businesses.

Among the more than 30 business experts providing one-on-one consultations are Chala Dincoy, CEO and founder of Coachtactics, who is a brand marketing expert helping small businesses, and Jason Leung, Principal of Leung Law PC, a firm that provides legal services in the areas of incorporations, commercial contracts, trademarks, patents and copyright.

The forum, which is attended by more than 2,000 people each year, gives attendees opportunities to network and learn from business community peers, successful entrepreneurs, investors, lending institutions, sector experts and government program providers.

The forum will also feature a trade show. More than 100 exhibitors will showcase tools and services that help start and grow businesses. New to the exhibitor area this year is a focus on incubators, which gives attendees opportunities to interact with 12 of Toronto’s incubators. Entrepreneurs who are part of these incubators will also be present, sharing new solutions for local businesses.
