You’re Invited: Ottawa’s Rideau Canal Skateway & Contest + Free Skateway App

This video presents “New Rideau Canal Skateway clip.”

When winter arrives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the Rideau Canal is transformed into the Rideau Canal Skateway, the world’s largest skating rink with FREE admission.

Skate through the heart of Canada’s Capital on the Rideau Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • The Skateway is 7.8 kilometres long, and begins just steps from Canada’s Parliament Buildings.
  • The scenic skating rink extends to Dows Lake.
  • “In between, warm up at rest areas, where there are toasty fires, hot drinks and tasty snacks.“

Win a Rideau Canal Skateway Prize Package!

This contest is:

  • organized by the National Capital Commission (“the NCC”);
  • ending Sunday, February 2, at 10 pm (EST); and
  • opened to certain Canadian citizens 18 years of age and over who reside in Canada.
    • No purchase is necessary to enter this contest.

One person will win the Prize Package containing the following items:

  • a $200 gift card for Sports Experts,
  • a one-hour sleigh tour on the Rideau Canal Skateway ($60 value),
  • Rideau Canal Skateway souvenirs ($40 value), and
  • two BeaverTails® pastries and two hot chocolates ($13 value)

The approximate total retail value of the prize package is $313, before taxes.

  • The winner is responsible for any additional expenses not mentioned above that are related to the use or claiming of the prize.

  • It is possible to earn additional ballots by referring friends to participate in the contest.
  • Please note that a limit of six ballots per valid email address will be accepted (one ballot for the original contest entry form, plus up to five extra ballots for referrals).
  • There will be one draw to select the prize winner, which will take place at 10 am (EST), on Monday, February 3, at the NCC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
