- Canada Day at Queen’s Park has been a tradition since 1967 – this is our 45th year celebrating on the lawns at Queen’s Park
Here are the FREE celebratory events of Canada Day in Toronto, Ontario:
Ontario invites you to the annual Canada Day at Queen’s Park family event:
- from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the front lawn of the Ontario Legislature
- the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will open Canada Day at Queen’s Park during a 21-gun salute
- free festivities include a line-up of:
- multicultural acts
- inflatable rides
- a visit from TVO Kids’ Kara and Drew
- The following roads will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.on July 1:
- Queen’s Park Crescent East from College Street to Wellesley Street West
- Queen’s Park Crescent West from College Street to Hoskin Avenue
- Grosvenor Street from Queen’s Park Crescent East to Surrey Place
- Wellesley Street West from Queen’s Park Crescent East to Queen’s Park Crescent West

Also, you are invited to celebrate Canada’s 145th birthday at Mel Lastman Square in Toronto, Ontario, on Sunday, July 1, at an evening of festivities presented by Timothy’s World Coffee:
- Celebrate Canada’s 145th birthday with live musical performances by Canadian bands and stunning fireworks choreographed to music.
- 5-8 pm Timothy’s World Coffee® Pre-Show: Early arrivals can enjoy musical and dance performances celebrating Canada’s cultural diversity
- Musical performances and a spectacular fireworks display will animate the Square from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- The featured musical performers will take the stage beginning at 8 p.m.:
- 8 pm Saidah Baba Talibah: Toronto-native rock soul singer Saidah Baba Talibah kicks off the evening with an electrifying performance.
- Talibah is the daughter of internationally renowned singer Salome Bey and conveys the rich history of her family’s musical legacy in her music.
- She will be performing songs from her recent albums Revolution, Place Called Grace and (S)Cream.
- 9:15 pm The Slakadeliqs with Justin Nozuka: The Slakadeliqs led by JUNO award-winning producer Slakah the Beatchild will showcase songs from their recent album The Other Side of Tomorrow, influenced by classic rock, reggae and pop and nominated for the 2012 Polaris Music Prize.
- The band will be joined by Justin Nozuka for this special high energy Canada Day performance.

- 8 pm Saidah Baba Talibah: Toronto-native rock soul singer Saidah Baba Talibah kicks off the evening with an electrifying performance.
- 10:15 pm Fireworks finale: The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display choreographed to music from Canadian artists.

- Wellesley Street from Jarvis Street to and including Queen’s Park Circle will be closed on Saturday, June 30 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
- Dyke March – Saturday, June 30
- March route (the march is from 2 to 4 p.m.):
- starts at Church and Hayden Street
- north on Church Street to Bloor Street East
- west on Bloor Street East to Yonge Street
- south on Yonge Street to Carlton Street
- east on Carlton Street to finish at Sherbourne Avenue

- from Progress Avenue to Ellesmere Road from 1 to 6 p.m.
- from Ellesmere Road to Lawrence Avenue from 3 to 8 p.m.
- Ellesmere Road will be closed from Midland Avenue to McCowan Road from 4 to 5 p.m.
- Brimley Roadwill be closed:
- at Queen’s Park
- Pride Parade – Sunday, July 2
- Formation area: Rosedale Valley Road, from Bayview Avenue to Park Road
- Parade route (the parade is from 2 to 6 p.m.):
- starts at Church Street and Bloor Street East
- west on Bloor Street East to Yonge Street
- south on Yonge Street to Gerrard Street
- east on Gerrard Street back to Church Street.
- Roads will be closed for varying periods between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
