Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) is scheduled to open this fall.

  • It is just one of the state-of-the-art competition venues being constructed for the TORONTO 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
  • The TPASC is located at 875 Morningside Rd.
  • The new facility will be Canada’s premier aquatics centre as well as a world-class training and competition venue, and will be home to the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario.
  • The centre includes:

    • two Olympic-sized swimming pools,
    • an Olympic diving tank with 10-, seven- and five-metre dive platforms,
    • four international-sized basketball courts,
    • a rock climbing wall,
    • running track,
    • strength training and aerobic conditioning floors and
    • fitness class studios.
  • Accessibility features include a movable floor area to facilitate pool access for individuals with disabilities and will provide suitable conditions for new swimmers and a variety of shallow-water fitness activities.
  • As a part of the legacy of the TORONTO 2015 Games, the TPASC will offer sports and physical activity programming for residents of the community, University of Toronto Scarborough students and high performance athletes.

Robert Singleton named managing director of the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre

**This is a joint news release from the City of Toronto and the University of Toronto Scarborough.**

The board of directors of the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Singleton as the managing director of the centre, which is scheduled to open this fall.

“We are very fortunate to have Bob Singleton’s experience at the helm of operations as we get ready to open this fabulous sport complex,” says board chair Ira Jacobs, who is also dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto. “The TPASC will be a crown jewel in our nation’s sports infrastructure during the TORONTO 2015 Games and for decades after.”

The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre is just one of the state-of-the-art competition venues being constructed for the TORONTO 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games. Jointly owned by the City of Toronto and the University of Toronto, the TPASC is located at 875 Morningside Rd., making it accessible to residents from the east end and across the city. An alumnus of the University of Toronto, Singleton brings his considerable talent and experience to the new role at TPASC Inc. Singleton most recently served as vice-president of operations at Downsview Park, turning it into a world-class sports facility for both recreational and elite athletes. His impressive experience in senior executive positions includes Molson Canada Inc. and the San Jose, California Grand Prix, both of which have earned Singleton a reputation for excellence in marketing, sales, operations and event management.
