Ontario Innovation Delivers Jobs
McGuinty Government Supports Wireless Integrated-Circuit Company
Ontario’s investments in high-tech businesses are paying off in jobs and growth for inventors and entrepreneurs.
Premier McGuinty visited Peraso Technologies today to meet the company employees who are driving Ontario’s future in communications and information solutions. The company received $90,000 in start-up funding from Ontario Centres of Excellence.
Peraso is currently developing wireless integrated circuits for mobile devices such as BlackBerrys, smartphones and laptops. The technology will allow Ontarians to get information up to 10 times faster then they currently can on their smartphones The company is expecting to hire 20 new employees this year.
Fostering innovation and investing in high-tech sectors like digital media and information and communications technology is part of the Open Ontario Plan to create jobs and grow a stronger economy.
