Green Neighbours 21 of Ward 21 area of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is a grassroots, action-oriented group of people working together to discuss and respond to climate change and other environmental problems.
As an environmental group, Ward 21 residents of Green Neighbours 21 have been actively installing solar energy projects on their own roofs for years.

BUILDING SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES — FOUR PROMISING IDEAS
Come and learn about four exciting new pathways to greener and more resilient communities:
- Transition Villages in Vancouver
- Project Neutral (aims to enable a Toronto neighbourhood to become the first urban carbon neutral community in Canada)
- Rethinking water in Toronto
- Barn raising” teams for home energy efficiency

b) Follow-up to The Economics of Happiness
At the Green Neighbours 21 meeting on Feb. 28th, we viewed the film “The Economics of Happiness.” Here are a couple of websites for people who would like to learn more:

3. Tree Planting
With spring fast approaching, LEAF – Local Enhancement & Appreciation of Forests – is beginning to book consultations for its Backyard Tree Planting Program that offers native trees and shrubs to homeowners at a subsidized cost.
The service includes:
- 30-minute site consultation with arborist
- 5 to 8-foot tall native trees
- between $150 to $200 per tree
- full planting service
