The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) reports that Verger Belliveau Orchard Sweet Apple Cider is recalled due to patulin which is a toxic chemical produced from a number of moulds such as Penicillium and Aspergillus.

• Recall Classification: “Class 3.
  • Class 3“ is a situation in which the use of, or exposure to, a violative product is not likely to cause any adverse health consequences.
• This affected product was sold in New Brunswick.
