Parler Fort – Witness To A City: David Miller’s Toronto
The Parler Fort series continues to explore Toronto’s past, present and future on November 15 (at 7 p.m.) with Mayor David Miller being interviewed about his book Witness To A City: David Miller’s Toronto.
Written by David Miller and Douglas Arrowsmith, the book profiles Torontonians whose inspirational lives impressed Mayor Miller to salute and share their experiences alongside his personal history.
Stephen Diamond, President and CEO of Diamondcorp, will interview Mayor Miller about a Toronto that harnesses the energies and talents of all its citizens. Many of the 18 exemplary Torontonians featured in the book will be in attendance at this event and some will participate in a panel discussion, which will include Mayor Miller.

Fort York National Historic Site is where urban Toronto was founded in 1793, and was the location of a major battle involving U.S., British, Canadian and First Nations combatants during the War of 1812. The war, a critical turning point in the story of Canada’s development as an independent nation, will be commemorated during its bicentennial in 2012-14 across North America.
Fort York National Historic Site is one of 10 historic museums operated by City of Toronto Cultural Services. It is located at 250 Fort York Blvd.
