“Everyone is invited to participate between 2pm to 3pm on both Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4 on College Street in front of the CHIN Building.

Judges will select ten finalists to be part of our finale on Sunday, September 4 at 6pm at the Palmerston Stage.

There are fantastic prizes to be won, including a gourmet Italian gift basket, olive oil, pastas, prosciutto, Sobeys gift cards – and the grand prize – a full wheel of PARMIGIANO-REGGIANO, the “king of cheese” (aged 24 months, 35-37 kilos), courtesy of Sobeys.”

Come down and watch the Italian Walk of Fame unveiling ceremony.

Italian Walk of Fame starts at 2pm, September 5th in front of the CHIN Building, and is open to the public.

The Italian Walk of Fame honourees this year are Bobby Curtola, Connie Stevens, Franco Nero, Alfredo DeGasperis, Luigi Aquilini, and Roberto Luongo, and they will all be there in person to unveil their stars on the sidewalks of College Street Little Italy.”

Weekend events with road closures in Toronto

Three special events this coming weekend will involve road closures. Residents and visitors are encouraged to come out and enjoy the events. Businesses in the areas affected will be open to pedestrian traffic but some roads will be closed to motorists.

Festivals and other special events are important to the city, injecting hundreds of millions of dollars annually into Toronto’s economy, and they are enjoyed each year by local residents.

In addition to road closures related to special events, a significant amount of road work is taking place in the city. People are encouraged to take public transit as a greener, faster and more affordable way of getting to their destinations.
