- The plant will employ up to 200 people at full capacity and distribute solar panels across North America.
- Silfab Ontario is investing nearly $13.5 million in the project, including a $3.3 million loan from the province.

- By the end of 2014, Ontario will eliminate coal-fired power and move to an electricity system that is clean, modern and reliable using renewable sources of power – like wind energy and solar energy.
- Currently, Ontario has more than 200 megawatts of solar capacity connected from over 4,600 solar projects – enough electricity to power over 30,000 homes.
- Since the Green Energy Act was proclaimed in September 2009, more than 30 clean energy manufacturers have announced plans to set up or expand operations in Ontario.
- Ontario has more solar power capacity online than any other jurisdiction in Canada and is among the top 10 jurisdictions in North America.
2. Ontario’s project to transform historic Old Town Hall in Campbellford into a multi-purpose performing theatre, box office and rehearsal space, is creating five jobs.
- Also, this project will create 10 new construction jobs within the Municipality of Trent Hills.
- The municipality will collaborate with the Westben Art Festival Theatre to engage the area’s artistic, cultural and heritage community to promote the facility for cultural development.
- The Municipality of Trent Hills is investing $514,705 in the project, with Ontario providing a grant of $128,676 from the Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF).
- To date, the EODF has committed $30 million to more than 60 announced projects, representing a total project investment of over $214-million and more than 890 new jobs created while supporting more than 5,200 jobs.
